The Barry Griswell Scholarship 2024 Initiative is offering renewable scholarships of up to $25,000 per year to help cover the costs of your education. The application deadline is fast approaching, so be sure to submit your application by May 23rd, 2024 at 3:00 pm Central Time.
Who is eligible?
- High school seniors with a minimum 2.0 GPA
- Current college undergraduate students with a minimum 2.0 GPA
- U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or DACA recipient
- Must be enrolled or planning to enroll full-time at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in the U.S.
- Pursuing a first associate’s or first bachelor’s degree
Selection is based on:
- Financial need
- Demonstrated leadership and community involvement
- Work experience
- Being a first-generation college student
- Essay about overcoming obstacles
- Home responsibilities
- Short statement
Award Details:
- Up to $25,000 per year for a total of up to five years (or until a first associate’s or bachelor’s degree is earned)
- Funds can be used for all education-related expenses
- Renewable for up to four additional years based on maintaining full-time enrollment and satisfactory academic performance
Required Application Materials:
- Current, complete transcript (not a report card)
- Copy of the first two pages of the most recently filed IRS Form 1040 (with social security numbers and bank account information blacked out)
- Dependent students: Parent or guardian’s tax return
- Independent students: Your own tax return
